A string of 30 events will take place during the week including seminars, start-up events, contests, and an award ceremony for organisations and individuals contributing to the innovative start-up ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City.

Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Viet Dung said that, the city is determined to build a sustainable development model based on technology and innovation in order to maintain and promote the city’s socio-economic achievements.

He noted that WHISE is one of the important events to promote the innovative ecosystem of Ho Chi Minh City. The event is also an opportunity to review innovation and start-up activities in 2019 and to provide consultancy on policies in support of an innovative start-up ecosystem.

According to Finnish Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto, the event will conduct a deeper discussion on the scientific development in specific areas such as the state management, transportation, and education. In particular, the event will emphasise the role of Ho Chi Minh City in supporting start-up activities in the process of innovation.
