NDO - The Vietnam Local Specialties Fair 2020 opened at the square of Vincom Mega Mall Royal City in Hanoi on November 26, introducing typical products from across Vietnam.

Hosted by the Hanoi Promotion Agency, the fair accommodates 300 booths of more than 200 businesses from 63 cities and provinces nationwide as well as those of foreign embassies in Hanoi.

Notably, 54 cities and provinces set up their own pavilions at the event to display specialties of their localities.

The products on display have been certified as meeting quality and food safety standards by authorised agencies.

Taking place until November 29, the event is expected to welcome around 80,000 visitors. The organising board also selected products for export and introduction at Vietnamese goods weeks held abroad in the coming years.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu said that the fair aims to support cities and provinces nationwide in promoting their indigenous products to customers and bringing their products into the supply-consumption chain in Hanoi.

It also offers an opportunity for distributors to find and work with suppliers and a shopping venue for domestic customers, thus increasing their trust in the quality of made-in-Vietnam goods.
