Winners of International photography contest on Hanoi announced

NDO – Winners of the international art photograph contest, themed ‘Tu hao Hanoi’ (Proud of Hanoi), were honoured at an awards ceremony held in Hanoi on October 10.

The contest is part of activities marking the 65th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).

After nine months of launching, the organising board received 2,659 entries (2,514 single photos and 145 sets), by 430 professional and amateur photographers from eight provinces, including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, the Philippines, Japan and Vietnam.

Accordingly, one first, two second, three third and ten consolation prizes were presented to 16 most outstanding entries, of which 15 were taken by Vietnamese photographers and one by a Singaporean.

As many as 106 photos, including 94 single ones and 12 sets, were selected for the exhibition which officially opened today at the Exhibition House in Trang Tien Street.

The exhibits were divided into different themes: Thang Long – Hanoi with thousands years of civilization; the City for Peace; Hanoi – integration and development; green – clean – beautiful Hanoi; and beautiful moments of elegant and civilised Hanoians.

The exhibition will last until October 14.

The second prize winning photo titled ‘Lung linh dem Ba Dinh’ (Sparkling Ba Dinh Square at night) by Nguyen Ngoc Tuan

The second prize entry ‘Hanoi – diem den’ (Hanoi – a destination) by Nguyen Hong Nga

Duong Nguyen’s photo titled ‘The he tuong lai’ (Future generation) was honoured with third prize.

Hoang Ngoc Thach shared the third prize for his photo ‘Mua lan su rong’ (Lion dance).

The work ‘Mat na sinh’ (Masks) by Huynh My Thuan won the consolation prize.
