NDO – Hai Phong will not organise the annual Red Flamboyant Flower Festival 2021, “Do Son – Colours of the Sea 2021” nor the Cat Ba tourism opening ceremony in a bid to strengthen measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Hai Phong Party Standing Committee on April 28 decided not to hold festivals nor events gathering large numbers of people, particularly during the April 30 and May Day holiday and the liberation day of Hai Phong on May 13.

The announcement of the Hai Phong Party Standing Committee said that the pandemic continues to develop complicatedly on the global scale, including in countries neighbouring Vietnam, posing high risks of pandemic infestation in Vietnam.

*The Southern province of Ca Mau has also decided to reduce the scale of the “The fragrance of U Minh forest” which is scheduled for April 30 and May 1.

Amid the unpredictable developments of the pandemic in the Southwest border areas, Cau Mau authorities have asked its localities and agencies to restrain the organisation of unnecessary events and maintain medical declarations at public locations such as offices, hospitals, schools, banks, trade centres, markets, restaurants, and others.

*The Vietnam Tourism Association has announced the delay of the opening date of the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2021 (VITM 2021).

The event, which was scheduled to take place in Hanoi from May 5-8, will be postponed until early June this year, without the confirmation of a specific date.

The VITM was delayed for four times in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
