NDO—The Indian Light Festival, known as “Diwali,” was held at the Ho Tay (West Lake) Water Park in Hanoi on October 22, attracting a large number of Vietnamese visitors.

The event was jointly organised by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam and the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM).

Visitors to the festival not only enjoyed traditional and modern dances but also learned more about the land and people of India through unique cultural activities, such as cuisine tasting, yoga, traditional handicrafts and the custom of solemn candle-light displays.

Notably, this year’s festival featured the participation of Indian famous rock band UDX and talented violist Aneesh Vidyashankar.

Diwali, which is one of the largest and important festivals in India, is held annually in late October or early November to welcome the new year according to the calendar of the Hindu people.

During the festival, all the streets in India sparkle with lights and fireworks, creating an impressive and shimmering spectacle. Currently, the Diwali festival is celebrated in thirteen countries around the world.

The festival will also be held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 5.
