Speaking at the MOFA’s annual meeting with domestic news agencies in Hanoi on January 19, Deputy PM Minh affirmed that despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on all areas of life last year, including foreign affairs activities, Vietnam’s diplomatic work rose above difficulties and attained many significant achievements, especially in ASEAN and at the United Nations General Assembly.
Bilateral and multilateral meetings still went ahead using new forms, ensuring the maintenance of Vietnam’s relations with its important partners, he added.

The official highly praised reporters’ responsiveness, creativity and bravery and applauded their remarkable contributions in conveying foreign relations successes to both the people nationwide and the international community, thereby significantly contributing to successes in the country’s external affairs.
On this occasion, Deputy PM Minh presented the Foreign Minister’s Certificate of Merit and the “For the cause of foreign affairs” insignia to a number of individuals and collectives with outstanding performances in diplomatic work in 2020.
