NDO - Thousands of paediatric patients at the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics received gifts and took part in interesting activities as part of the recent Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.

During the programme, the children had an opportunity to play folk games and try their hands at making lanterns and moon cakes.

The hospital’s medical staff also arranged booths providing free toys, lanterns, balloons, fruits, and event hair cut service for the paediatric patients on the occasion.

Meanwhile, at a programme entitled ‘Green Mid-autumn Festival’, children who are under treatment at the Phu Tho provincial hospital were presented with eco-friendly products including disposable paper cups and straws, compostable sets of forks and spoons. Doctor Ngo Huu Ha, Deputy Director of the Hospital said that the presents aim to encourage the recipients to practice green living and act green for the environment.

The National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion has offered its paediatric patients with many colourful Full Moon Festival programmes to bring hope, joy and cheer to them ahead of the traditional festival.

More than 5,000 gifts and cash worth over VND1.2 billion were presented to 9,000 paediatric children at the National Cancer Hospital (K Hospital) in Tan Trieu commune, Hanoi’s outlying district of Thanh Tri over the past week by kind-hearted organisations, and charity groups.

The children were also entertained with art performances and lion dance performance and joined in a lantern procession.

A warm and joyful Mid-autumn festival celebration was also held at Bach Mai Hospital, during which gifts worth VND100 million were handed over to children patients there.
