Get-together marks 74th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Public Security Force

NDO - The Ministry of Public Security held a get-together on August 15, on the occasion of the 74th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Public Security (August 19) and the 14th anniversary of “All People Defend the Fatherland’s Security” movement.

The event was co-chaired by Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, General To Lam; and Thuan Huu, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Communication and Education Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam recalled the glorious tradition of the People’s Police Force over recentyears. The force has always remained absolutely loyal to the Party, State and people and has worked closely with relevant ministries and sectors to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

During the war years, the force overcame all difficulties, sacrifices and hardships to fight bravely against various crimes to protect State assets and the lives and property of the people. In the cause of national construction and defence, the force has provided consultancy for the Party and State on policies to maintain social order and fight against crime for the safety of key national targets and important events as well as for the general well-being of the people. Many soldiers and officers sacrificed their lives or were injured in the fight to ensure national security.

On the occasion, the Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper presented the Ministry of Public Security with a book entitled “General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, with affection from the country’s people and international friends”.

The book was compiled by the PCC Communication and Education Commission, Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Su That from letters, articles on e-newspapers and social networks, and other sources of information about the General Secretary and State President.
