PM Phuc commemorates late Party and State leaders

NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam paid tribute to former Party and State leaders on January 21 on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet).

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, PM Phuc offered incense to late General Secretary Le Duan, who devoted his entire life to the struggle for national liberation and reunification and was also an excellent theorist and creative thinker of the Vietnamese revolution.

Offering incense to General Secretary Truong Chinh, the head of government recalled the late Party leader’s contributions to the Party and nation, emphasising that Vietnam’s historic achievements over the past 30 years are a testament to the cause of reform instituted by the late General Secretary.

Paying tribute to General Secretary Do Muoi, PM Phuc recalled that the late Party leader was always worried about the risk of Vietnam lagging behind with an economy performing below its potential.

Offering incense to PM Pham Van Dong, who held the post from 1955 to 1987, PM Phuc affirmed that Dong lived a rich revolutionary life and was a competent diplomat and great man of culture.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, PM Phuc offered incense to General Vo Nguyen Giap, the first general of the Vietnamese People’s Army, whose name was connected with the great victories of the two long resistance wars against the French colonialists and American imperialists, as well as to the cause the national construction and defence.
