NDO – A delegation headed by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong had a working session with the Standing Board of the Phuoc Long district in the southern province of Bac Lieu on August 7.

Speaking at the session, Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong hailed the efforts made by the Party Committee, administration and people in Phuoc Long district over recent years.

The district has completed and exceeded 23 targets set at the 12th District Party Committee Congress (2015-2020 tenure). The district is striving to reach an economic growth rate of 12.16% and per capita income of over VND66 million by the end of this year. At present, the rate of poor households is just over 0.5%, while the rate of near poor households is just over 1.7%.

Politburo member Vuong highly lauded the results in implementing the programme on building new-style rural areas in Phuoc Long, thereby helping significantly reduce the rate of poor households in the district as well as improving people's living conditions.

He urged the district to continue to perform well in all aspects of its preparations for the 13th District Party Congress, with a focus on documentation and personnel preparation.

The political report must identify all relevant advantages, disadvantages, limitations, causes and lessons learned, he added.
