NDO - Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) Truong Thi Mai has stressed that diplomatic missions abroad must make greater efforts to inspire love and pride amongst the Vietnamese community in their host countries while working to promote the values of Vietnam’s traditional cultural identity.

Politburo member Mai, who is also Head of the PCC's Commission for Mass Mobilisation, made the statement a meeting in Hanoi on August 7 with heads of Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad for the 2020-2023 tenure.

At the meeting, the Party official congratulated the diplomat on their appointment as entrusted by the Party and State.

She emphasised that the Party and Sate have always considered the overseas Vietnamese community as an indispensable part of the nation as well as an important resource for the country’s development, thus she required diplomatic missions abroad to serve as support for the Vietnamese community in their host countries.

She also asked them to thoroughly grasp existing guidelines and policies on mass mobilisation in order to foster the implementation of the documents in the host countries.

She expressed her belief that the diplomats, with their experience, will successfully fulfil their tasks as assigned by the Party and State, thus contributing to national construction and security.
