NDO – Hanoi has proposed the allocation of more capital from the State budget to implement several major important projects in the city in order to promote socio-economic development in Hanoi for the 2021-2025 period.

The suggestion was made at the working session between the Hanoi Standing Party Committee and the Party Committee of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in Hanoi on September 24 under the chair of Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue.

Addressing the working session, Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue emphasised that the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has provided much support to Hanoi in completing its socio-economic development tasks in 2020 and that the city will continue to need assistance from the Ministry in the future.

Hanoi also suggested the MPI report to the Government and the National Assembly to raise the budget regulation rate to Hanoi to over 35% to ensure resources for carrying out socio-economic development tasks in the 2021-2025 period.

The city also requested the assistance of the MPI in submitting the investment plans of two projects to the Government and National Assembly for approval, namely the urban metro line No.3 connecting Hanoi Station and Hoang Mai and the metro line No.5 from Van Cao to Hoa Lac.

Hanoi also suggested allocating investment capital of over VND8.7 trillion for the construction of the National Highway 6 from Ba La to Xuan Mai.

In addition, Hanoi proposed the use of State budget for the implementation of a number of transport, environment, irrigation and health projects including the building of the second phase of Vinh Tuy Bridge, upgrading Saint Paul General Hospital, and building a branch of Hanoi Heart Hospital in Thach That, among others.
