Vice President encourages soldiers in Navy Region 4

NDO – Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on August 2 paid a visit to military officers and soldiers of the Navy Region 4 stationed at Cam Ranh Military Base in Khanh Hoa province.

The vice State president was joined by delegates from the President's Office and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) to visit and present gifts to officers, soldiers and local people in the Navy Region 4, covering Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, Phu Quy island, the East Sea and the waters in the south of Central Vietnam from Phu Yen to Binh Thuan provinces.

Vice President Thinh worked with the Navy Region 4 Command and visited several navy units stationed at the Cam Ranh base in Cam Ranh bay. She also conveyed the encouragement from General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong to all officers, soldiers and people in the Navy Region 4 and Truong Sa island district.

According to her, the Navy Region 4, Truong Sa district and Cam Ranh military base have successfully fulfilled all the assigned tasks, especially acting as a solid fulcrum for fishermen when operating at sea, while implementing well the rescue work not only for Vietnamese fishermen but also foreign ones, as well as joining the building of ship docks and storm shelters.

Expressing her sincere thanks to the contribution and dedication by the Navy Region 4, Thinh said she always believed in the spirit and responsibility of the navy, urging them to always follow the goals, tasks and discipline set by the Party, State and army to fulfil all missions.

On the occasion, the vice president and the NFVC presented 40 gifts to outstanding soldiers and citizens of the Navy Region 4 and Truong Sa island district, while awarding 200 gifts to local students with outstanding academic achievements.

Hung Thinh Group (Ho Chi Minh City) also donated VND21 billion to Truong Sa island district, aimed at helping improve the material and spiritual life for officers, soldiers and local people in the islands belonging to Truong Sa district.
