Work starts on Green Mekong international school in Kien Giang province

The ground-breaking ceremony for the Mekong Green international school

NDO - Kien Giang Construction Investment and Consulting Group (CIC) held a ground-breaking ceremony on February 22 to start the construction of Mekong Green, an international school in Kien Giang provincial capital city of Rach Gia.

The VND78 billion (US$3.38 million) project includes a block of classrooms and supporting facilities which will cover a total area of 8,400 square metres.

The school, which caters to kindergarten and primary education, is expected to open for enrolment in the 2020-2021 academic year, with the entire project scheduled for completion in September 2021.

Green Mekong is connected with infrastructure of the Tay Bac urban zone, with 100 hectares of land reclaimed from the sea.

CIC General Director Tran Tho Thang said the aim of Green Mekong is to build a high-quality nursery school in the city of Rach Gia that combines education and community, modernity and tradition of the Mekong River Delta.
