The six outstanding citizens honoured at the Youth Cultural House

NDO - Six outstanding young citizens in Ho Chi Minh City were honoured with Young Citizen Awards 2014 at a ceremony held at the city's Youth Cultural House in District 1 on the first day of the year 2015.

They were selected from 91 nominees who have made excellent achievements in fields of education, technology, culture and arts, armed forces and social work.

They are Ta Thuy Chi, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Experimental Theatre under the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School; Tran Huu Loc, lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City Nong Lam University; Le Yen Thanh, student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Science; Nguyen The Tien, a reconnaissance police at the Ho Chi Minh City Police; Tran Quoc Tuyen from Thien Huong Food JSC and Le Thi Thanh Van from the Ho Chi Minh City Charitable Centre of Training and Offering Job for the Handicapped.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee Le Thanh Hai said that these outstanding citizens are representative of young and dynamic Ho Chi Minh City citizens. He expressed his belief that the six young citizens will continue to shine and strive to become role-models for others to follow and make more contributions to the nation.

So far, 52 of the city’s young residents have been honoured with the Young Citizen Awards nine years after launching the prize.
