NDO - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) on February 27 delayed four flights to Europe by 3-5 hours to avoid airspace of Pakistan as it was closed at 2:30pm on February 27.

VNA said that the Pakistan Civil Aviation announced the closure of its airspace from 2:30pm on February 27 (Vietnam time), which affects airlines crossing the country.

According to the carrier, VNA flights from Vietnam to Europe in the next few days may be affected by the airspace closure. The carrier will continue to closely monitor the situation to keep its passengers informed.

VNA also recommended its passengers observe the updates to the schedule of VNA flights on its website or Facebook. Affected passengers will be assisted by VNA to change tickets or return schedules.

"The regulation of flights to avoid Pakistan airspace will extend the flight time of passengers and raise costs for the airline. However, Vietnam Airlines always gives top priority to ensuring safety for flights and passengers in all cases,” said a VNA representative.

Passengers in the UK, France and Germany can contact VNA offices in London, Paris, and Frankfurtaccording to information announced on the website www.vietnamairlines.com.
