Vietnamese and Chinese youths strengthen cooperation

NDO – A Vietnamese youth delegation are in China to attend the 19th Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting.

According to Nhan Dan Newspaper correspondent in China, the Vietnamese delegation, led by Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU), Nguyen Ngoc Luong, stay in China from June 19 to 26.

The Vietnamese delegates were received by First Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), He Junke, in Beijing on June 21.

Speaking at the meeting, Luong highly appreciated the cooperation between the youth unions of both side in various fields, affirming that the youth of the two countries should implement the agreements reached by leaders of the two parties and the two states, thus continuing to preserve and promote the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Introducing his host about the HCMCYU’s activities, Luong said that the organisation has paid attention to the implementation of education on political ideology and patriotism for its members, while implementing a range of action programs such as youth volunteer programmes, supporting startups and encouraging youths to participate in national construction and defence.

Luong affirmed that friendly exchange activities, particularly the Vietnam-China youth friendship meetings held on a large scale, have made a positive impact on the sentiment of the two countries' youths and people, becoming a highlight of the friendship between the two countries.

He expressed his hope that on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2020, the two sides would implement practical activities towards more expandable, practical and in an effective manner.

He Junke affirmed that the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries are increasingly improving, including the cooperation and exchange activities between the youth organisations of both sides.

He expressed his wish that the exchange and cooperation activities between the two countries' youths would focus on international students, border area youth activities, startups and young entrepreneurs. He also affirmed that the CYLC would coordinate with the HCMCYU to organise practical activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and agreed on a number of cooperation contents in the upcoming future, including strengthening delegation exchange, training for officials at all levels, studying theory and practice on youth movement and an exchange of experiences among press agencies of the youth unions.

As part of the 19th Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting programme, nearly 100 Vietnamese youngsters will visit Beijing, Guizhou, Sichuan and Guangxi, as well as exchanging with Chinese youths on good practices in the fields of economic development, culture, communications, education and training in order to enhance understanding and trust, contributing to promoting the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperation.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, the 19th Vietnam - China Youth Friendship Meeting was officially opened with a welcome gala in Beijing.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China on June 19.
