Leaders pay pre-Tet visits nationwide

NDO – Party and State leaders have toured various places across the country to present gifts to locals and spread festive joy on the occasion of the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.

On January 16, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organisation, Pham Minh Chinh, paid a pre-Tet visit to Quan Son District in Thanh Hoa Province.

Praising the achievements made by Quan Son over the four years of implementing the Party Congress resolutions at all levels, Chinh suggested that the local authorities focus on implementing well the socio-economic development tasks and continue caring for local people, especially those who are disadvantaged as well as ethnic groups.

On the occasion, Chinh and his entourage presented 460 Tet gifts, worth nearly VND500 million, to policy beneficiary families in Quan Son.

On the same day, Chinh also visited Cam Thuy District and presented 200 Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged households in the district.

★ Also On Thursday, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, visited and gave out 200 Tet gifts to locals who live under difficult circumstances in Khoai Chau District, Hung Yen Province.

★ Meanwhile, in Hanoi’s Ba Vi District on the same day, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee, Hoang Trung Hai, presented Tet gifts to 183 ethnic minority households in seven mountainous communes in the district.

★ On Thursday afternoon, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, General Ngo Xuan Lich, visited and conveyed his Tet wishes to the Border Guard High Command.

★ In Ho Chi Minh City on the same day, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan, hosted a meeting to celebrate the Lunar New Year for the city’s authorities.

★ Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung on Thursday also visited Vinh Phuc Province’s authorities to wish them a happy Lunar New Year.

★ National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu attended a gathering held by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations on Thursday evening to celebrate Tet with representative of diplomatic missions, international organisations and NGOs in Vietnam.

★ Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, took a visit and gave out Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families and workers in Bac Kan Province and Thai Nguyen City (Thai Nguyen Province).

★ On the evening of January 16, at Au Co Theatre in Hanoi, the Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper coordinated with the Navy Command to organise the 8th Truong Sa Spring Art Programme. Through the programme, the newspaper has donated nearly VND50 billion to support the Navy and its soldiers to help fund equipment, gratitude houses, savings books and gifts.

★ On January 16, a delegation from Nhan Dan Newspaper headed by its Editorial Board’s member, Pham Song Ha, visited and gave out Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families in Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province.

★ Tet gifts were also granted to policy beneficiaries in Phu Tho, Dak Lak, Soc Trang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Long An, and Binh Duong the same day.
