NDO - Work has commenced on an underpass at the intersection between Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Huu Tho Streets in Ho Chi Minh City to ease traffic congestion in the area.

With a total cost of VND830 billion (nearly US$35.5 million), the underpass runs 456 metres along Nguyen Van Linh Street and has three lanes in each direction.

The underpass allows a maximum speed of 60 kilometres per hour.

The project is scheduled for completion in June 2022 and will help to ease congestion at a major intersection in District 7 and bolster socio-economic development in the city’s southern area.

The Nguyen Van Linh underpass is one of seven urgent transport projects designed to relieve congestion in Vietnam’s southern economic hub.
