Nhan Dan Newspaper wins third prize at press awards on the youth

NDO – Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s reporter Phan Linh won third prize for his series of articles entitled “Supporting rural youths in starts-up” at the 2020 Press Awards on the Youth.

The awards ceremony was held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee in Hanoi on June 26.

This year’s evet featured the participation of 344 press works across many different catergories, including 237 reports, interviews and articles on the youth unions’ work and youth movement while 107 others reflecting outstanding examples in the youth union’s work and children and teenager movements across the country.

In the category of reportage, interviews and articles on youth union work and movement, first prize went to the series “The youths studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings” by Luu Trinh, Xuan Tung and Thanh Nam from Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper.

The work titled “Creating new ‘energy’ for youth union activities” by My Nga and Thanh Quynh from Nghe An Newspaper and the series of articles on children’s rights and child protection by Chu Hai from Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong (Vanguard Teenager and Children) Newspaper won second prize in the category.

In the category of outstanding officials in youth, children and teenage organisations, top prize went to the series “The youths on the front line against epidemic” by journalists from the Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper. Meanwhile, the second prizes were awarded to reporters from Tien Phong and Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong newspapers.

In each category, the organising board presented three third and five consolation prizes to other outstanding works.
