NDO - For decades, the fine traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has been safeguarded and nurtured by the efforts of the two countries’ peoples, producing many results in areas of cooperation. 

NDO – The international public has placed high expectations on the positive results that President of the United States (US) Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), can reach in their second high-level meeting in Hanoi. Meanwhile, both the US and the DPRK have broadcast optimistic signals about new steps in bilateral relations. 

NDO/VNA - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said the hosting of the DPRK-USA Summit contributes to realising the motto “Vietnam is an active and responsible member of international community” set by the 11th National Party Congress in 2011. 

NDO/VNA - US President Donald Trump arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi, on the evening of February 26 for his second summit with Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un, and bilateral activities in Vietnam. 

NDO/VNA – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the comprehensive partnership with the US during talks with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Hanoi on February 26. 

NDO - Hundreds of popular dishes of Vietnam and Hanoi in particular, such as ‘pho’ (noodle soup), ‘bun thang’ (rice vermicelli with chicken, egg and pork), and ‘xoi xeo’ (savoury sticky rice), are being served to journalists at home and abroad, who are in Hanoi to cover the DPRK-USA Summit 2019.
