Nhan Dan Online – Representatives from central agencies and Ho Chi Minh City paid tribute to martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, during a ceremony on Co Lin and Len Dao islands in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa on May 10.

Sixty-four Vietnamese People’s Navy officials and soldiers, who fought bravely and ingeniously against foreign naval ships, which illegally entered the sea and blatantly mounted an attack on Truong Sa archipelago, died for the beloved fatherland’s territorial integrity, said Rear Admiral Dinh Gia , Political Commissar of the navy.

He stressed that Truong Sa archipelago has undergone many changes as many new facilities have been developed and the changes have improved the material and spiritual life of soldiers and officials. In spite of the hardship and challenges, soldiers are determined to defend firmly the national sovereignty over sacred seas and islands and develop Truong Sa strongly and prosperously.
