NDO – Over 500 artists gathered at a special event entitled ‘Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh’s Era’ that took place on the evening of September 2 at the National Convention centre in Hanoi to celebrate the National Day.

The programme was staged as an epic recalling the 85-year historic journey of the Communist Party of Vietnam in leading the national struggles against the French colonialists and US imperialists, and in reconstructing the country, healing the pains of war, building socialism, and integrating into the world.

Historical events such as President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence to announce the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, the Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954, and the Ho Chi Minh campaign to liberate the South and reunite the country in spring 1975 were also featured through songs, dances, and documentaries at the event.

The programme was held to reaffirm the clear-sighted leadership of Party and President Ho Chi Minh in the struggle for national liberation and reunification..

It was also an opportunity to pay gratitude to predecessors who devoted their lives for the national construction and defence, inspiring patriotism, national pride and solidarity among people, particularly among the youth.
