President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday marked in France

Vietnamese people in France remember President Ho Chi Minh at Monceau Park

NDO - The Vietnamese Embassy in France on May 16 held various activities to mark the 126th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

At the headquarter of the Vietnamese mission in France, Ambassador Nguyen Ngoc Son, head of the Vietnamese delegation to UNESCO Le Hong Phan, Professor Hoang Chi Bao, member of the Central Theory Council and representatives of Vietnamese people in France offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh.

The delegation later laid flowers in front of a house at No. 9 Compoint, Paris where Ho Chi Minh once lived from 1921 to 1923, and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial at Monceau Park in Montreuil.
Ambassador Nguyen Ngoc Son thanked the Montreuil leaders and residents and the park management on behalf of President Ho Chi Minh.

On this occasion, he recalled the French people’s strong support for the Vietnamese people during the struggle for national independence and reunification in the past, as well as national construction at present.

For his part, Montreuil’s honorary mayor Jean Pierre Brad expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, whom he described as a man with a strong love for not only his countrymen but also all of humankind.

He added that like the Vietnamese people, the people of France and many other countries in the world truly admire President Ho Chi Minh, who instilled a strong confidence in the Vietnamese people in the national independence movement.

Ms Fondini, a Montreuil resident, said President Ho Chi Minh was a great man who found ways to bring independence and freedom to Vietnam, adding that she looked at the Ho Chi Minh statue as she passed the park every day.

Nguyen Van Bon, a member of the Vietnamese Association in France said that he always remembered President Ho Chi Minh’s words to overseas Vietnamese to work and study well to become the ambassadors of Vietnam and help the country become wealthier and stronger.

As part of activities to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, Professor Hoang Chi Bao talked with Vietnamese residents in France about the moral example of Ho Chi Minh as well as his revolutionary career and everyday life.
