NDO – The entire Vietnamese team are feeling relaxed and focused in their last-minute preparations for the opening King’s Cup clash against Thailand on June 5, vice-captain Nguyen Van Toan shared with the media ahead of their Monday training session at Buriram’s Chang Arena, the hosting stadium of the 2019 King’s Cup matches.

Toan said that he is confident in his current form and hopes to deliver a good performance if he is named for the starting squad.

Talking about their archrivals Thailand, the Hoang Anh Gia Lai forward stated that the Thais still remain a strong team despite the absence of star Chanathip Songkrasin, reminding Vietnamese players to fight their best and stay focused when confronting the War Elephants on their home field.

He also emphasised the advantage for Vietnam as their keeper Dang Van Lam and midfielder Luong Xuan Truong are currently playing for Muangthong United and Buriram United, respectively, in Thai League.

“Their understanding of Thai players will be very helpful for the Vietnamese squad,” Toan said.

The training session was of great importance in terms of both tactics and man selection, therefore, coach Park Hang-seo made careful calculations concerning training lessons in order to ensure the factor of expertise.

This afternoon, Park and his players will enter the last training session before officially kick-starting their 2019 King’s Cup campaign.
