Houthis conducted intense shelling at bases of government forces in Al Humegan, south-west of Al-Bayda.
Among the four Yemeni soldiers killed there was a military commander. The Yemeni Defence Ministry's announcement said that the government forces backed by local tribesmen targeted the Houthi-controlled sites in Al-Bayda, killing five Houthis.
* Three Yemen-based Al-Qaeda suspects were killed in a US drone raid conducted in the eastern province of Marib. The Al-Qaeda branch of the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has conducted several attacks against Yemeni Government forces in the eastern and southern regions.
* The United Nations strives to push Houthi rebels to deploy a peace agreement reached by the internationally-recognised government in Yemen, to end the long-running civil war. Currently, Houthis control the port city of Hodeidah, while Yemeni government forces backed by Saudi Arabia have gradually regained control of the south-eastern suburbs. Meanwhile, the government forces have mobilised large reinforcements to the southern region to cope with new fighting with rebels.
* The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) called for the release of over 3,000 migrants, mostly Ethiopians, who were detained under poor conditions in centres in southern Yemen. The conflict in Yemen threatens the lives of thousands of migrants, mainly from the Horn of Africa, who are now scattered throughout Yemen.
