NDO – In a telephone conversation on May 15, the US Special Representative for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Stephen Biegun, and the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Igor Morgulov, emphasised that there must be adequate enforcement and compliance with sanctions against the DPRK until a complete, thorough and verifiable denuclearisation is reached, reported Yonhap and the Vietnam News Agency.

According to TASS, the two sides also discussed the promotion of diplomatic and political efforts related to nuclear issues on the Korean peninsula.

* On May 16, the US Government announced President Donald Trump's plan to visit the Republic of Korea (RoK) and meet his counterpart Moon Jae-in in June. According to the White House press secretary, the two leaders will discuss close coordination towards the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, as well as how to strengthen the alliance and friendship between the US and the RoK.
